Titans' Kevin Byard, Derrick Henry share Week 5 Player of the Game honors

We normally only give our Tennessee Titans Player of the Game honor to one player per week, but it was too hard to decide after the Week 5 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, so we’re cheating and naming two players.

And those two players are safety Kevin Byard and running back Derrick Henry, both of whom made major impacts on Sunday.

Per usual, Henry torched the Jaguars en route to 130 yards and three scores. It was a slow start for The King, but he turned on the juice in the second half, tallying 99 of his yards in the final two quarters to close things out.

It was a much-needed surge after Tennessee’s passing attack stalled in the second half. Henry has now rushed for 100 yards or more in four straight games and is off to the best start of his career.

When it comes to Byard, the question is: what didn’t he do on Sunday?

Byard tallied the second-most tackles on the team with 10, had a pair of pass break-ups, a fumble recovery for a touchdown — shoutout to Elijah Molden for knocking it out — and an interception late in the fourth quarter.

After struggling during the 2020 campaign, Byard looks to be back to form, and that’s a huge lift for this Tennessee defense.

Honorable mention: Harold Landry

We told you this decision wasn’t easy to begin with, and that’s before mentioning Landry, who looks to be transitioning into stardom.

Landry tied his single-game career-high with two sacks, bringing his season total up to 4.5, one shy of his 2020 mark. Landry also added seven tackles and had three QB hits in total. The man can’t be stopped.
