Rupert Friend puts on a loved-up display with his Paralympian wife Aimee Mullins as they attend the premiere of The French Dispatch at the London Film Festival

Rupert Friend looked dapper as he attended the UK premiere of The French Dispatch with his wife Aimee Mullins at the London Film Festival on Sunday.

The 40-year-old actor donned a grey suit with a brown tie as he walked down the red carpet, while the Paralympian, 46, wore a monochromatic black ensemble of a long dress, coat and patent boots.

Aimee, who married Rupert in 2016 after three years of dating, carried a white clutch bag in her hand which boasted chain detailing and a bird printed on the front.

The couple were in high spirits as they posed with their arms around each other at the glamorous affair.

The flick, which is directed by Wes Anderson, is set in a fictional French city and follows journalists who work in an American publication called The French Dispatch Magazine.

It brings to life a collection of stories in the magazine, and follows the many different characters which are played by a stand-out cast.

Rupert is set to star in the film as the drill-sergeant along with a plethora of other actors including Timothee Chalamet, Lea Seydoux, Saoirse Ronan, and Owen Wilson.

Set to be released in the UK on October 22nd 2021, the movie started filming back in November 2018 and wrapped in March 2019 but has delayed release due to the pandemic.

The director decided not to release the film until he was able to show it to audiences at film festivals.

Wes opted for Angoulême as the filming location for the anticipated flick, but made up a name for the town in the film, calling it: Ennui-sur-Blasé.

For the interior shots of the film, the team based themselves at the disused Cofpa felt factory at nearby Gond-Pontouvre.

The film festival is taking place all over the capital until the 17th October, and will showcase talent from across the globe.
