Jake Paul teases potential fight with Tyson Fury as YouTube boxer claims Gypsy King has 'earned the chance to fight me' after Deontay Wilder triumph
YouTube boxer Jake Paul claims Tyson Fury has 'finally earned the chance to fight me' after the Gypsy King overcame Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas on Saturday.
Fury won his trilogy fight with Wilder via an 11th round stoppage in a thrilling heavyweight contest that saw both fighters floored, but the Briton stood firm to retain his WBC and Ring Magazine titles.
Meanwhile, Paul recently managed a split decision victory over former UFC star Tyron Woodley in August and teased a potential match-up with the Gypsy King in the future after Saturday night's trilogy fight.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer tweeted: 'I think Tyson Fury might have finally earned the chance to fight me.'
Fury finally overcame Wilder for a second time on Saturday night and is now one step closer to a unification heavyweight bout with either Anthony Joshua or Oleksandr Usyk, who will rematch next year after the latter's victory last month.
Paul, meanwhile, is still undefeated in four professional boxing fights which has seen him take on YouTuber AnEnsonGib, former basketball player Nate Robinson and former UFC fighters Ben Askren and Woodley.
The YouTuber teased a potential retirement after his Woodley victory in August but reversed that decision just a day later.
Fury, meanwhile, refused to reveal what is next for him despite finally putting Wilder to bed on Saturday night.
Whe asked what's next, the Gypsy King said: 'I'm the WBC champ, Ring Magazine champion and the lineal champion. You know what, I have to say thank you to my trainer SugarHill (Steward) because if it wasn't for Sugar, America's own, Detroit's own, I wouldn't have got through that fight tonight.
'He told me: get your jab working big dog and chew that right hand down the middle. Only the big dogs pull it out late on in fights. And I said: "Yes, I got ya" and I pulled it out the bag.
'Big shout out my dad, my mam, my kids all watching, I know you've had your hearts in your mouth tonight but don't ever doubt me. When the chips are down, I can always deliver.'
Fury then signed off his interview on the night in his typical style - singing 'Walking in Memphis' on the microphone.
