It’s important to recognize when you’ve achieved greatness, and adidas is proud of its technological accomplishments. The brand’s Boost technology changed the meaning of what a responsive midsole looked like, felt like and ran like. Since Boosts’ inception in 2013, adidas has infused some of its best sneakers with it, like the UltraBoost 20, UltraBoost DNA and Pureboosts. And today, adidas is celebrating its best technology by hosting Boost Day.

Boost Day means a few things. One, a moment of appreciation for the comfiest and bounciest sneaker technology around. Two, exclusive gifts for members and new colorways of various Boost styles have dropped, including the ZX 2K Boost 2.0, Terrex Free Hiker C.RDY, the Ultraboost 21, Solar Boost 3 and Kids’ ZX 2K Boost. Additionally, three new colorways of the Ultraboost 1.0 DNA are here — including a members-only olive green colorway. (To become an adidas Creators Club member, sign up via the app. You can also sign up on adidas’s website, too, but you’ll miss some app exclusive deals and drops.)

Through the end of today, adidas is also hosting a raffle, where the winner will snag a three-pair Boost shoe prize inclusive of the UB21, Freehiker and ZX 2K Boost. Plus, the brand is sending out a free three-month premium app membership with any Boost purchase — perfect for putting those Boosts to use ASAP.

(To compare, last year’s Boost celebration also featured some of the most popular and hard-to-get Boost drops, but lasted a full week.)

Developed by German chemists at BASF, Boost technology uses expanded thermoplastic polyurethane, or eTPU, to form the brand’s foam midsole that looks like Tic Tacs melded together. It’s more responsive than other forms of midsoles (like EVA, which most running sneakers used to be made of) and feels squishy without lacking responsiveness when you step. All in all, Boost allows for a quicker response time, less joint pain and a running sneaker that is, in fact, just as good to wear even when you’re not running.
