Cincinnati Bengals fans were holding their breath when quarterback Joe Burrow exited midway through the second quarter with what appeared to be a potential injury.

Burrow was slow to get up and many immediately feared the worst, especially when it was shown that he hit his head hard on the field.

Fortunately, Burrow was able to jog off under his own power and he returned to the game shortly thereafter. Needless to say, Bengals fans breathed a sigh of relief.

In the midst of a heated contest with the 3-1 Green Bay Packers, the Bengals are looking to improve to 4-1 to start the season. And they certainly can’t afford to lose Burrow for any period of time.

Thankfully, the injury scare seems to have been just that. A scare.

Burrow has taken his fair share of hits behind the Bengals offensive line and this game has been no different. Although this one can’t exactly be blamed on his blocking.

Burrow scrambled to his left on a 3rd-and-12 play and dived forward in an attempt to pick up the first down. Bengals fans would probably prefer Burrow slide in situations like that going forward.

The Bengals brought Burrow to the sideline and checked him out in the blue medical tent before it was announced that he was cleared to return to the game.

Cincinnati needs a healthy Burrow to compete not only in this game, but as the season progresses. That much is evident.
