EMPTY BOWLS: For 15 years, the Collar City Clay Guild and its partners have continued to raise funds for the food programs in Troy. With local potters and the Troy community we have been able to raise over $278,000! While we are still in an unprecedented time, we hope that this year we can continue to provide the much-needed support to our local food program. October is World Hunger Month, and across the nation people are still struggling in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic to make ends meet. But potters continue to join together to organize Empty Bowl Projects – and right here in the Capital District potters, organized by the Collar City Clay Guild, are busy hand-throwing and hand-building bowls to donate to the 16th Annual Empty Bowls at the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market. This year- we will continue to adjust our event due to health and safety concerns. This year the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market has again graciously offered to host the Empty Bowls event the first three Saturdays of October: Oct. 2, 9 and 16. All bowls will be a flat fee of $20. No soup will be served. To support our local restaurants who have long supported Empty Bowls, a coupon for a free bowl of soup will be given with each bowl. Coupon can be presented at a participating restaurant when you place a food order. All proceeds from the Empty Bowls Project will go to benefit food programs throughout Troy and will be distributed equally among them. Supporting restaurants include: Ale House; Brown’s Brewing Company-The Taproom; Carol’s Place and The Eatery; La Bella Restaurant; Mi Casa; Muddaddy Flats Quesadillary; Muza Restaurant; Park Pub Restaurant; Patricelli’s Deli; The Ruck, Spillin’ the Beans.
