Corpius Boss Battle Guide
A creepy cloaked monster will emerge to attack you with its razor sharp tail, triggering a new boss fight.
This creature will slowly strafe back and forth before either whipping its tail low at you, or striking down from above to pierce the ground.
Jump over the whip attacks if you see its tail coil behind it, and try to slide dodge ahead of the tail if it arcs back for a moment - as it will be vulnerable for several moments afterwards - allowing you to unload your Missiles in rapid fire at its bony head.
If you get caught on the other side of its tail, don’t try to waste ammo or get near it, and ready a Charged Shot for when the tail is taken out. It may alternate ducking and slightly raising its head, so either crouch and fire straight on, or use your targeting when you can.
Charge Beam and and Missiles won’t have any effect on it anywhere other than its head, so focus on targeting and firing your Missiles at its head only, and watch for it spitting up gobs of acid that will arc towards you from above.
If you run out of Missiles, switch to Charge Beam shots when you get up close to its head while its stinger is preoccupied, and keep blasting until the beast enacts its cloaking technique.
You won’t be able to see its head, but a light source will appear near the base of its stinger tail. Keep your distance this time, and jump over the swipes as you wait for it to slam down the stinger into the ground. You should have gotten some missiles back when this phase started, so use them and target its glowing point carefully before unloading several missiles at it in rapid succession.
In between tail strikes, it’s vulnerable spot isn’t immune to regular blaster fire, so keep up a rapid attack until it's pinned to switch to missiles or charged shots.
In its third phase, the creature will alter its body to attack you from behind, leaving its bony head opposite you. You’ll want to quickly slide under its exposed rib cage to the front - but be ready for its stinger to try and catch you off guard, and quickly counter the attack to unleash a ferocious blast, and follow up by unleashing missiles during the quick time event - or suffer a lot of damage instead.
Once facing the head, continue your assault of Missiles and Charged Shots until you see it start to belch toxic gas from its maw. That’s your cue to run up to the wall and jump to reach the Magnet Rail and hold on until the gas dissipates.
You can keep firing from this vantage point by aiming with L, but beware as the creature can draw close and prepare to ram the Rail. Jump over its body as it does this, and repeat the process of sliding under its legs.
It may try to turn invisible again, so switch to regular fire and aim at the bright spot until it reverts back to its rear-facing position to continue the cycle.
Try and end it with another quick time counter to unload a barrage of Missiles, and the beast should fall, revealing the Phantom Cloak upgrade for you to use as your own.
