The College Football Top 25 will have it’s least chaotic week as most Top 25 teams win.

Week Six in the rankings won’t reflect how good of a week of college football that this week actually was. While teams like Notre Dame and Michigan appeared to be in trouble late, they were able to pull off big comebacks and win their games. Alabama was not so lucky as they lost to Texas A&M on a last second field goal.

In the Lawless Republic rankings, which do not take prestige or blueblood rankings into account. Because of that, you will notice that my rankings don’t match up perfectly or even very closely in some cases with the national rankings like the AP or Coaches Poll.

For the entire 2021 season I will put out my Top 25 poll, whether BYU Football is in it or not. Again, my polls are based off of what I see, not what the AP/Coaches Poll says. In fact, I don’t even reference them while making my ranking.

Below are my Week Seven rankings with last week’s rankings in parenthesis.

WEEK SEVEN RANKINGS

1. Georgia (1)

2. Cincinnati (2)

3. Iowa (3)

Penn State vs Iowa wasn’t the most entertaining game from a scoring perspective, but it was a great defensive battle that saw Iowa make just one more play than Penn State.

4. Oklahoma (6)

Oklahoma seemed to be out of the Red River rivalry early as Texas seemed to be unstoppable and Oklahoma struggled to get scoring drives result in seven points. That all changed in the second half as the Sooners proved to be a Top 5 team.

5. Penn State (4)

6. Coastal Carolina (11)

7. Alabama (2)

Would Alabama beat Coastal Carolina? Yes, probably. But to this point, Alabama has played two really close games, losing one and needing a late surge in the other. Coastal Carolina on the other hand hasn’t had a single game that has been in doubt all season.

8. Ohio State (10)

9. Michigan (12)

Michigan looked like they were going to dominate Nebraska, then lose, and finally in the end they ended up doing just enough to win the game.

10. Oregon (11)

11. Ole Miss (12)

12. Kentucky (17)

Somehow, someway Kentucky may just be the third best team in the SEC this year. The last time that Kentucky was good was…awhile ago.

13. Michigan State (21)

14. BYU (7)

The Cougars statistically were the better team between them and Boise State, however four turnovers proved to be too much to overcome as BYU lost their first game of the season 26-17.

15. San Diego State (14)

16. Arizona State (18)

Since losing to BYU, the Sun Devils have looked like the clear best team in the Pac 12. Could this be the year they break the streak and finally win the conference?

17. UTSA (15)

18. Oklahoma State (19)

19. SMU (22)

SMU is sneakily moving up the rankings and could end up being the only competitive game remaining for Cincinnati. The only question is, who would be ranked higher between them and Coastal Carolina if they are two undefeated G5 teams at the end of the season.

20. Notre Dame (18)

21. NC State (21)

22. Wake Forest (22)

Wake Forest keeps finding ways to win, which last time I checked is the objective of football. Somehow someway they may be the best team in the ACC which I’m not sure if that is a good or bad thing for the conference.

23. Liberty (25)

24. Baylor (NR)

25. Arkansas (8)

On the Fringe: TCU, Texas A&M, Virginia, Army

Dropped Out: Virginia Tech (22)
