For some reason, Ben Simmons is still with the Sixers. It's likely because of the ridiculous price tag Philly has slapped him with. What is clear, however, is that Simmons wants out of Philadelphia as soon as humanly possible.

According to David Aldridge of The Athletic, the Sacramento Kings continue to be in the race for the former Rookie of the Year. One thing the Kings have going for them is the fact that Simmons is reportedly willing to take his talents to Sacramento:

“I’ve written this on Simmons to Sac before, and the rationale still holds. Simmons is an elite defensive player. He’s an elite passer. He has four years left on his deal. (He would have no problem going to Sacramento, I’m told, so strong is his desire to get out of Philadelphia.)”

Aldridge also notes in his report that Simmons would provide a significant boost in the Kings' rather lackluster defense from last season. Pairing him with De'Aaron Fox in the backcourt would be a scary sight for opposing teams — that is if Sacramento is able to hold on to Fox in a potential Ben Simmons deal.

The Kings were not identified as one of the six teams that were considered as frontrunners for Simmons. These were the Indiana Pacers, the San Antonio Spurs, the Detroit Pistons, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Toronto Raptors, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, the Sixers want-away star's rumored interest in them could just give the Kings the edge they need in this sweepstakes.
