As the winter transfer window is set to open in January, Tottenham is already eyeing one Serie A midfielder as a possible midseason acquisition.

As noted by the Italian-based outlet CalcioMercato, Tottenham is showing an early transfer interest in Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie.

The report adds that the Premier League side has an intrigue in signing McKennie over the winter window, although it is not known whether the side would be open to waiting until next year's summer window to push for such a move. This comes after the club opted not to haul in a base midfield talent over the recent summer transfer window.

As it stands, Juventus would consider parting ways with the United States men's international. The Bianconeri acquired him from FC Schalke 04 after triggering the buy option in the loan agreement with the Bundesliga side.

For now, Juventus has placed a €30 million transfer demand on McKennie, as noted by the report. More so, West Ham is also showing an early interest in making a transfer push for the midfielder as well.

Even after a standout first season with the Serie A powerhouse, McKennie was linked with a move away from the club in the summer. While he wound up staying on at the club, he is now once again in the rumor mill over a possible departure in January.

Although he is in a crowded group of midfielders at Juventus, the versatile on-ball talent still has managed to total for seven appearances in all competitions so far this season, which include starts in two of the team's last three league matches.

For now, McKennie sure will look to continue to make the most out of his playing time minutes over the first half of the season.
