Antoine Griezmann has revealed his FIFA 22 Ultimate Team selection, and the Frenchman has included a number of intriguing selections in his line-up.

Arguably the most eye-catching of them all has seen the Atlético Madrid man put himself in central midfield, and not in his favoured positions as either a number 10, or the main centre forward, in a 3-4-1-2 formation.

Griezmann has included two of Atlético teammates in the team, which includes Slovenian shot-stopper Jan Oblak in goal and Marcos Llorente in central midfield.

France teammate Ousmane Dembélé is positioned on the right side of midfield, while two legendary World Cup winners in Laurent Blanc and Fabio Cannavaro take their places alongside a Dutch Euro '88 winner in Frank Rijkaard in defence.

Marc Overmars is the other Dutchman named in Griezmann's XI, while Italian icon Roberto Baggio is deployed in the number 10 role behind Samuel Eto'o and the Brazilian Ronaldo.

Griezmann was looking for feedback on his selections by using the thumbs-up emoji and using a question mark in his tweet.

Llorente gave his approval in response, which roughly translates from Spanish as saying: "Another level that midfield."

But despite getting the thumbs up from his Atlético teammate, it was questioned as to why there was no place for fellow France star Kylian Mbappe.

Turning back to matters on the pitch, Griezmann has made a slow start back at Atlético since re-joining the club on loan from Barcelona at the start of the season. He has found the net just once in his 10 appearances across all competitions to date - that came in a 2-1 Champions League victory away at AC Milan last month.

The 30-year-old most recently made his 400th La Liga appearance after coming off the bench in a 2-0 win over parent club, Barcelona before the most recent international break.

Griezmann is also close to an international milestone with France, following his 98th cap in a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over Belgium in a UEFA Nations League semi-final tie on Thursday.

Didier Deschamps' men take on Spain in the final on Sunday evening.
