Giants’ roster moves: OT Korey Cunningham elevated from practice squad

Perhaps as protection in the event that Andrew Thomas’s foot injury sidelines him on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Giants have elevated offensive tackle Korey Cunningham from their practice squad.

Cunningham, 6-foot-6 and 311 pounds, was signed to the practice squad on Sept. 7, a week after he was released by the New England Patriots. He entered the NFL as a 2018 seventh-round draft choice by the Arizona Cardinals, from the University of Cincinnati. As a rookie, he started each of Arizona’s final six games at left tackle.

Cunningham was traded to the Patriots on Aug. 29, 2019 and played in one game that season and 11 games in 2020 for New England.

The Giants also announced that veteran offensive lineman Jonotthan Harrison, who was elevated the previous two weeks, has suffered an Achilles injury.

If Thomas can’t play, Nate Solder and Matt Peart would be the starting tackles with Cunningham in reserve.
