The annual celebration of diverse mental health journeys returned Saturday morning in York.
Supporters of the York- Adams County PA National Alliance on Mental Illness walked one mile at West York Area Middle School to raise awareness about mental health at it's 12th annual walk.
The organization educates and advocates for equitable access to mental health treatment and connects people with available services.
Above all else, the NAMI program aims to spread awareness about collective mental health, stating one in three U.S. adults reported experiencing depression or anxiety since the pandemic began.
“Mental health can affect any one of us, and there is hope. And there's recovery possible and it is through the community supporters that we can overcome mental health illnesses, "said Desiree Irvin, Executive Director for NAMI York-Adams Counties PA.
Mental Health resources were also available at the 12th annual walk.
