The Quality That Will Make You a Better Landscape Photographer

Landscape photography takes the confluence of technical skill, creative vision, the ability to plan, and often, just a bit of luck. And while we can spend a ton of time both at the computer and behind the camera improving our skills, one of the qualities that can help you make better images has nothing to do with either of those. This great video discusses how it can improve your work.

Coming to you from Steve O'Nions, this excellent video discusses the virtue of patience in landscape photography. While you can plan and do everything you can to ensure you get the photo you want, the sometimes frustrating aspect of landscape work is that you are at the mercy of the elements, and they may not always cooperate. If you are not greeted with the conditions and light you want, it can be tempting to immediately pack up your gear and chase the next shot, but sometimes, paying attention to how conditions are evolving and being willing to wait for your shot will pay off. Check out the video above for the full rundown from O'Nions.
