JJ Peterka will make his fifth exhibition appearance when the Buffalo Sabres host their preseason finale against the Detroit Red Wings at KeyBank Center on Saturday.
Peterka missed Buffalo's last two practices with what coach Don Granato described as a lower-body bruise.
Pregame coverage begins at 2:30 p.m. on MSG. The puck drops at 3.
Here are five things to know ahead of the game.

1. One more look for Peterka

The 19-year-old has two goals and an assist through four preseason games. Granato said he has already seen an evolution in his game from the start of camp.
"He absorbs what's in front of him, whether that be the opposition, his linemate, information from the coaches," Granato said. "He internalizes it and he goes to work at it. So, he's very advanced in that regard. But he's still young. I say all this and that is very exciting, but you also do see his age in there as well.
"I'd say for his age, he's advanced. Now, is he advanced enough to be a full-time NHL player? There's going to be ups and downs for any young player. I mean, it's just the way the league is. It's the best in the world. But he's advanced for his age, definitely, and he seems to have shown us more of that as camp's progressed."

2. Lineup notes

The Sabres will be without defenseman Rasmus Dahlin and forward Victor Olofsson, both of whom are nursing soft-tissue injuries. Granato said he expects both players to practice with the team on Monday.
Anders Bjork, Drake Caggiula, and John Hayden will be scratched at forward.

3. Tonight's goaltender

Craig Anderson will get the start and is expected to play the full game. It will be the second exhibition appearance for the 41-year-old, who stopped 18 of 20 shots in two periods of play against Pittsburgh on Oct. 1.
"I think I've proven to myself last year that you don't always need a lot of games to get yourself ready," Anderson said. "It's just a matter of putting the work in practice, making sure you're doing everything you need to make sure you're individually ready when called upon."

4. Jonsson-Fjallby to debut

Axel Jonsson-Fjallby will make his debut in a Sabres sweater after being claimed off waivers from the Washington Capitals on Monday.
Jonsson-Fjallby described what he intends to bring to the lineup after practice on Tuesday.
"I'm trying to bring speed to the game," he said. "I don't see myself as a half-wall power-play guy, you know. I'm just trying to bring the speed and good defense, good penalty kill."

5. Scouting the Red Wings

Detroit will ice a roster featuring its own share of young players looking to crack the NHL lineup, including first-round picks Joe Veleno (2018) and Lucas Raymond (2020) at forward.
