Fun in the sun has a new definition

In the world we live in today, taking advantage of as much fun as possible is top priority. Granted, we realize that opportunities don’t knock in this type of fashion often, but when it does, we have to run with it, or in this case, cruise with it.

Top down, power, style and comfort align magnificently when a Marlin Blue Bentley Continental GT convertible arrives for a weekend test in Grasso’s Garage. With a V-12 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine, the Continental GT powers to 626 horsepower and 664 lb-.ft of torque. Additionally we noticed 363 cubic inches of displacement making the Continental GT an absolute powerhouse. Aligned with an eight-speed dual clutch transmission, the two-door cruiser is faster and more efficient than ever.

Drop the top in just 19 seconds and at speeds of up to 30 mph while the heated neck-warmers keep you warm in all kinds of weather. During our test, we enjoyed 85+ degree weather and it was all about the drop top and sunshine. As a crowd favorite, it’s difficult to not drool over the oversized grill and front fascia design as a Bentley is not your most common vehicle on the road. But as good as styling can get, Bentley certainly has it covered.

With a driver-focused instrument panel, we absolutely adore the fact that Bentley has taken bits and pieces from other manufacturers in their stable such as Porsche and Audi. Buttons galore in the center console, making it simple for both the driver and passenger to adjust settings to their liking while parent company Volkswagen, continues to drive sales with lower models with similar layouts; genius if you ask me … find what consumers like and duplicate it in all levels of manufacturing.

The 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system was easy to use as the three elegant analogue dials were positioned correctly and were utilized heavily. Similar to Porsche’s SUV, the infotainment system is easy to navigate and very responsive. A glorious Bang and Olufsen sound system was crisp and powerful with a sticker option of $6,835.

Saying that Bentley has what every consumer wants is an understatement. The linen interior, and almost $50K in options proves that Bentley has handcrafted automobiles that are absolutely stunning. In the eyes of Bentley, they define the Continental GT as the “Luxury Grand Tourer” and we cannot agree more. Not only do we love what Bentley has to offer with the Continental GT, but we really enjoy all of its vehicles in the line-up today. If you haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy the comfort and power yet, you are missing out.
