For Mexico vs. Honduras, Gonzalez is picking Mexico to win the first half at -130 odds. Mexico has been underwhelming through the first four games of World Cup qualifying but El Tri did get stars Hirving Lozano and Raul Jimenez back against Canada after both missed extended time with head injuries. Lozano plays for Napoli and supplied an assist in the draw with Canada, while Jimenez also plays elite club ball with Wolverhampton.
Now that both have had a full week in camp without travel interruption, they should be more settled in and that should benefit the Mexico attack considerably after El Tri only managed five goals in its first four games. Meanwhile, Honduras could struggle going forward after only scoring twice during its first four qualifying matches.
"Mexico started fast against Canada," Gonzalez told SportsLine. "I think they have an even better chance of doing that here against a Honduras side that has one goal in its last three matches. Tata Martino is going to need his team to be a tad sharper in attack, and I expect to see a Mexico team that looks lethal at home."
