WHEELER COUNTY, Ga -- As the Georgia Bureau of Investigation continue to investigate the fatal shooting of an Alamo Police Officer, more details about the victim are coming out.
The GBI confirmed 26-year-old Officer Dylan Harrison, of Dudley, was shot and killed around 1:00 a.m. outside of the Alamo Police Department on October 9.
Officer Harrison had begun working part-time with the city of Alamo Police Department, and last night was his first shift.
He was also a full-time Oconee Drug Task Force Agent in Eastman, and has worked in law enforcement since 2018.
An autopsy for Officer Harrison will take place at the GBI Crime Lab.
Investigators have issued a blue-alert, for 43-year-old Damien Anthony Ferguson, aka Luke Ferguson, of Alamo.
A Blue Alert is a public safety alert that is issued when a suspect who has killed or seriously injured an officer has not been apprehended and may be a serious threat to the public.
Officer Harrison leaves behind a wife and 6-month-old baby.

WHEELER COUNTY, Ga. - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirms an officer has been shot and killed in Wheeler County.
According to a tweet from the agency, they are investigating the death of a city of Alamo police officer who was shot and killed overnight.
Telfair County Sheriff Sim Davidson says the officer killed was Dylan Harrison.
The Owner of Central Georgia Gymnastics Academy in Dublin is paying tribute to losing Harrison, the son-in-law of the school's owners.
Governor Brian Kemp posted to Twitter Saturday afternoon offering his thoughts and prayers to Harrison's family, friends and colleagues.
Numerous law enforcement agencies in Middle Georgia are offering their condolences following the shooting death of Harrison.
The GBI has scheduled a press conference for 2:30 p.m. at the Wheeler County Courthouse. WGXA News will be there.
