Junior linebacker, Seth Smith, had himself a night resulting in being the Calvin Rocket’s player of the game. Smith had a punt block and an interception in the 2nd quarter, as the Bobcats beat the class of the Des Moines public schools, DSM Roosevelt, 14-7 at Leonard Cole Field Friday night.

Smith’s punt block set up the Bobcats at the Roughriders’ 8-yard line. The quick drive resulted in a 2-yard run by sophomore Dalen Huston. His interception of Junior phenom Jamison Patton, ended a promising Roosevelt drive right before the half.

Junior Malachi Holmes started the scoring with a 9-yard touchdown run. He finished with 7 carries for 41 yards. Next Friday, the Bobcats take on Cedar Rapids Jefferson (0-7) on Senior Night for the Bobcats.
