New ‘Scream-A-Torium Haunted House’ Coming to Fortuna

This is a press release from Griffin Loch, local young filmmaker:

I am taking a sabbatical from filmmaking to pursue the long-awaited dream of opening a haunted house.

This has only become possible with the support of the City of Fortuna and the Fortuna Fire Department. With their encouragement, we are now able to offer a COVID-regulated, holiday event for the entire community of Humboldt County.

Last Halloween many events were unavailable, this was of great sadness to many. My sister and I struggled on the 31st itself, missing the usual excitement. Although we carved pumpkins and dressed up it felt very isolated. Creating a safe, temperature checked, social distancing, and mandatory mask event that still allowed a bit of the Fall fun seemed an impossible task until we put our passions of Haunts to work.

My family and I are long-time enthusiasts of everything Halloween, including our past building experiences for haunted houses in southern California for The Boys and Girls club. This year, we are proud to present chills and thrills on  Fortuna Main Street, before starting my fourth film in late fall 2021. We are partnering with local schools and shops to offer discounts for BUYING LOCAL and students to ensure all that would like to attend may. A portion of our proceeds will be proudly donated to the Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department, and Sundays will offer to trick-or-treat for the little ones.
