Mercedes star driver Lewis Hamilton speaks out after getting slapped with a 10-grid penalty at Formula 1's Turkish Grand Prix.

After his fourth ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) of the season, which is one more than what is allowed by the F1 regulations, Hamilton looks to limit the ensuing damage a 10-grid penalty can give.

“I have a lot of work to do on Sunday and I need to just focus on getting the best out of tomorrow, obviously aiming for pole to limit the loss of the penalty,” the British star concluded, aware of the challenge that lies ahead, as he seeks to maintain his two-point lead on Max Verstappen

To limit the damage, Hamilton had a perfect start this weekend, topping both FP1 and FP2.

“Coming into this weekend, I didn’t know what to expect when we went out there but the level of grip was intense, it was awesome. The track is so much more enjoyable to drive.”

The seven-time champion currently sits at first in Formula 1's driver standings, but only two points ahead of his rival, Red Bull's Max Verstappen.

With just seven races to go, Hamilton's performance in the upcoming Turkish GP will play a crucial role in his chances of winning the title.
