Lionel Messi’s move to PSG shocked the entire world this summer after he sadly had to leave Barcelona due to financial issues at the club. While the Argentine was sad to depart Camp Nou, he is evidently very happy in the French capital. Via Goal (From France Football):

“I had to find a new club to continue my career. I was lucky to be contacted by several clubs including PSG. I am grateful to the club because from the start they treated me very well.

“They showed they really wanted me and took care of me. I thank them because I am very happy today. I received other offers, but … we came to an agreement with PSG quite quickly.

“I was obviously won over by the project, the players it has, the quality of the group … all these elements made it easier to find an agreement.”

Life on the pitch hasn’t exactly been great for Messi, though. He’s yet to score in Ligue 1, with his first goal of the season coming last week in a 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the Champions League group stages.

Seeing Messi in a PSG jersey still feels odd after such a long time at Barca. President Joan Laporta even revealed earlier this week that he wished the superstar was willing to play for free. That’s how badly the Catalans wanted Messi to stay, but their money situation was too far in the gutter.

Although the 34-year-old has gotten off to a slow start at PSG, there’s no doubting that Mauricio Pochettino’s side has one of the most deadly frontlines in Europe with Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe. It’s only a matter of time until they find chemistry and start running riot on their oppositions.
