Rabun County (Tiger, Ga.) broke Deshaun Watson's state total touchdown mark on Friday. The Houston Texans quarterback set the mark of 218 in 2013, but Stockton's touchdown pass late in the second quarter gave him four total touchdowns on the night as the Georgia commit moved past Watson. He threw for three and added one on the ground in the first half to give him 219 total touchdowns for his career.
Stockton, a 6-foot-1 220-pound senior quarterback and four-year starter, has been one of the most productive signal-callers in Peach State history. Other state records are within reach.
Stockton entered tonight's game against Grovetown 2,505 passing yards away from breaking former Cartersville standout Trevor Lawrence's record for career passing yards. He ranks fifth all-time sitting behind Lawrence, Watson, Jake Fromm and Harrison Bailey.
Some state records that should be a lot easier to reach, include Lawrence's career touchdown pass mark of 161. Stockton is 11 away after throwing three touchdown passes in the first half against the Warriors. He entered tonight's matchup 1,866 yards of total offense to break Watson's mark of 17,134 total yards.
Rabun County still has three games left in the regular season and the Wildcats are one of the AA favorites, meaning they could play as many as five additional games in the postseason.
