The first week of October is in the books. Should late-night TV fans expect to close things out with a brand new episode of Real Time with Bill Maher?

Through the first 29 episodes of season 19, Bill Maher has steadily focused on a handful of topics. But more often than not, it has been cancel culture, “woke mobs,” and millennials that have made Maher create headlines.

There is a good chance we’ll get more of the same on Friday night. There will be a brand new episode of Real Time with Bill Maher tonight.

Maher also has a number of stories that could inform his monologue. The debt ceiling vote, more reports on former President Donald Trump, and the ongoing pandemic all could come up when the comedian takes the Real Time stage.

Who’s on Real Time with Bill Maher tonight?

First up, Bill Maher interviews Steven Pinker. Pinker makes his second visit to Real Time after a 2018 appearance.

Pinker is a Harvard professor of psychology and an author. His latest book is Rationality
What It Is, Why It Seems Scares, Why It Matters. Expect Pinker and Maher to discuss the rise in conspiracy theories, fake news, and misinformation despite all the knowledge at our disposal.

Then, it’s time for the panel guests to join the show. Both guests should be familiar to Real Time fans.

Killer Mike, aka Michael Render, is a rapper and activist, known for his group Run the Jewels. His interest when it comes to social justice is widespread, so there is no topic that Render can’t discuss.

Robert Costa is a Washington Post reporter and co-author of Peril with Bob Woodward. The book examines the tumultuous transition between President Trump and President Joe Biden.

Real Time with Bill Maher airs tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET on HBO.
