Colts’ Fans Confidence in Team Rises After Week 4 Win Over Dolphins

The Colts earned their first victory of the season over the Miami Dolphins last Sunday. For the majority of the game, Indy had its way with a mediocre Dolphins offense and their middle-of-the-pack defense, too.

Despite being just 1-3 through the first four weeks, fans responded to a poll posted through Super Bowl Nation, which asked for their confidence level in the team moving forward.

As you’ll notice in the chart below, which was put together by Super Bowl Nation recently, fans’ expectations started to dip after an 0-3 start; but slowly worked its way back up after last Sunday’s much-needed win.

Indy will be looking to earn its second straight win when they take on the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night. Coming away with a victory in their first primetime game of the season, especially against who many believe to be a legitimate AFC contender, would be a huge shift for the Colts’ season expectations.

We know Indy is capable of beating the below-average teams, and now we have to see them face off against a dominant Ravens team to get a better idea of what the fans could possibly expect from their team this season.

If Indy is able to walk out of the toughest 5-game stretch of any NFL team with a 2-3 record, that would be a major success for a team which got off to such a slow start. The Colts want to keep pace with division rival Tennessee (2-2), and coming away with a win would be a major boost towards that effort.

A victory Monday won’t come easy, however, as quarterback Lamar Jackson is 7-0 in the month of October. The Colts are going to have their hands full with one of the league’s most dynamic quarterbacks, so they better come prepared.

While the Colts schedule does ease up a bit as their season progresses, there’s also matchups against the 49ers, Bills, Bucs and others as well. There are no ‘easy wins’ in the NFL. As we’ve seen over the course of a month, every team is capable of winning against each other.

Simply put: this team is going to have to earn the respect of their NFL peers. As the Colts look to continue to get healthier, fans are likely going to expect more performances like the one they saw in Week 4.

We’ll have to see if Indy can step up their play and make a push towards the playoffs for the second season in a row.
