Week 5 final injury report: Titans rule out WR Julio Jones vs. Jags

When the Jacksonville Jaguars take the field Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, one notable player they won’t have to deal with is receiver Julio Jones. The team ruled him OUT for Friday’s game on the final injury report with a hamstring injury.

Jones’ absence should make things easier on the Jags’ secondary, which has struggled mightily this season. Jones, who was the team’s biggest offseason addition, is the Titans’ receiving leader at the moment with 12 catches for 204 yards, so there is no question that his presence will be missed.

However, not all is bad for the Titans as receiver A.J. Brown will play after missing Week 4’s game against the New York Jets with a hamstring injury. That said, he’ll be the one tasked with leading the passing game this week and will enter Sunday’s game with seven catches for 92 yards.

Still, even with Brown and his success against the Jags, there is no denying that the game-plan is a little easier to prepare for coordinator Joe Cullen, though it remains to be seen exactly what the plan is. The Jags could trail Green with veteran Shaquill Griffin as they did with DeAndre Hopkins Week 3, especially with Tyson Campbell ruled questionable and the potential for Tre Herndon or Nevin Lawson to start on the perimeter.
