New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones, was the “big man on campus” at the University of Alabama last year’s championship year for the Crimson Tide. Now in the NFL, the Associated Press notes things for the former Bama star haven’t been stellar. Jones had four touchdowns and four interceptions so far this year for the Patriots, which have one win and three losses so far. The team’s new QB is credited with completing 70% of his passes. He threw for 275 yards and had 19 consecutive completions. That’s the most for an NFL rookie since 1991, and tying the franchise record set by for Pat’s QB Tom Brady in 2015.
The AP notes life has been equally hard for other rookie NFL quarterbacks, like Jacksonville's Trevor Lawrence, the New York Jets' Zach Wilson, as well as Jones at New England. San Francisco's Trey Lance, Chicago's Justin Fields and Houston's Davis Mills have all stepped in during the past few weeks. And they've all experienced varying degrees of struggles.
