We are less than two weeks away from the NBA regular season beginning and there is still no conclusion to the saga between the Philadelphia 76ers and Ben Simmons. Things have only gotten uglier the longer this has gone on.
Simmons continues to remain away from the team, as he didn’t report for training camp. The team is withholding his salary as a result, which they are well within their rights to do. They can also fine him for every practice, preseason, and regular-season game that he misses.
Losing money doesn’t seem to be something that phases Simmons, otherwise, he’d have already reported to camp. He is in this for the long haul and wants to be traded.
This is unprecedented in the NBA, as we have never seen a player actively sit out waiting for a trade. The Houston Rockets and John Wall came to an agreement that he would sit out until a trade was found. James Harden at least showed up to work for the Rockets last season, Anthony Davis did the same for the New Orleans Pelicans.

Could that offer come from the Indiana Pacers? Let’s take a look at this hypothetical deal between the 76ers and Pacers that lands Simmons in the Twin Cities
