Saturday will serve as the Pride’s Breast Cancer Awareness match as part of the Club’s announced initiatives throughout the month of October to utilize its resources and partners to raise money toward medical advancements, share expert knowledge, and spotlight the importance of early detection and prevention.

As part of its Pink Pumpkins campaign, CITY Furniture will give away 2,000 pink pumpkin buckets to fans at the match, with limited-edition Orlando Pride BCA merchandise also available for purchase at both ShopOrlandoPride.com or at The Den. A portion of the proceeds from each sale will go to supporting breast cancer research.

The Pride are coming off a 3-0 defeat against OL Reign in their last match. A brace from Eugénie Le Sommer and a finish from Bethany Balcer led the home side to the shutout victory.

Sydney Leroux continues to lead the Pride in goals scored at eight and also has two assists on the season. Teammates Marta and Taylor Kornieck lead the Pride in assists, each with three on the year. The Pride also have four players with two assists apiece.

Gotham are coming off of a midweek match up this past Wednesday against the Washington Spirit, where both teams were unable to find the back of the net, ending in a 0-0 draw at Subaru Park in Philadelphia.

Ifeoma Onumonu currently sits with seven goals to lead Saturday’s opposition, with Margaret Purce following behind with five. Nahomi Kawasumi and Caprice Dydasco sit tied for the team lead with four assists in 2021.

Following Saturday’s match, the Pride hit the road for a two-game trip, first set to face the Chicago Red Stars in a rescheduled contest on Wednesday, Oct. 13. Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m. ET at SeatGeek Stadium.
