Frederik Gauthier signs

The New Jersey Devils today signed forward Frederik Gauthier to a one-year contract worth $800,000 at the NHL level and $175,000 at the AHL level ($200,000 guaranteed). Gauthier had been in Devils training camp on a professional tryout agreement. The announcement was made by New Jersey Devils Executive Vice President/General Manager Tom Fitzgerald.

Gauthier, 26, skated in two games with the Arizona Coyotes and 18 games with the AHL-affiliate in Tucson (two goals-five assists) last season. He previously played parts of five seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs from 2015-16 to 2019-20. Gauthier has career totals of 13 goals and 18 assists for 31 points in 170 career regular-season NHL contests, while posting 47 penalty minutes. Gauthier has also appeared in 8 Stanley Cup Playoff contests.
Born on April 26, 1995, the native of Laval, Quebec, was Toronto's first-round selection, 21st overall, in the 2013 NHL Draft. Prior to his professional experience, the 6'5", 235lb. forward spent three seasons with Rimouski (QMJHL).
