Renouf was waived by Detroit on Friday, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports.
Renouf drew into 18 games with the Avalanche last season, picking up three assists while averaging 10:10 of ice time per contest, so he may crack the Red Wings' lineup on occasion in 2021-22, but he'll likely spend most of the campaign in the minors.
