Here's the Milwaukee Brewers' roster for the National League Division Series against the Atlanta Braves
The Milwaukee Brewers released their roster Friday morning for the National League Division Series against the Atlanta Braves and there was only one real surprise.
Left-hander Brent Suter, who has been a valuable middle reliever in the bullpen, was excluded from the roster with a "minor right oblique strain" that had not been previously disclosed. Suter pitched twice in the season-ending series in Los Angeles last weekend, including a one-inning outing Sunday in the finale in which he allowed two hits and one run.
With Suter sidelined, Daniel Norris not making the roster because of poor performance since his acquisition from Detroit on July 30 and starter Brett Anderson also excluded, the Brewers are a little light on left-handers for the NLDS. Only starter Eric Lauer and relievers Josh Hader and Aaron Ashby are lefties on the 11-man staff, but most of Atlanta's pop is from the right side, so that might not be a hindrance.
The only other mild surprise is the inclusion of a third catcher, Luke Maile, but teams often like to keep three in the event of long games or in-game injuries.
