Orioles centerfielder Cedric Mullins has been named a finalist in the American League for the Hank Aaron Award. The honor is presented annually to the best offensive player in Major League Baseball.
Each team nominates a player and MLB writers select the finalist. It then goes to a fan vote for a portion, with Hall of Fame players getting to vote as a panel in addition. Baseball fans have the opportunity to help select the winners by voting for an American League and National League player online at MLB.com/aaron.

Blue Jays: Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Yankees’: Aaron Judge
Athletics: Matt Olson
Royals: Salvador Pérez
Indians: José Ramírez
The winner will be announced during the World Series. Mullins may also here his name in MVP considerations after his historic 2021 season. Mullins became the first player in Orioles history with 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases in the same season. He was also an All-Star in his best professional season after receiving a demotion two years prior.
The Hank Aaron Award was introduced in 1999 to honor the 25th Anniversary of Aaron breaking Babe Ruth’s all-time home run record, and, at that time, was the first major award introduced by Major League Baseball in more than 25 years.
