More than 99% of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health employees are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption, the health care provider said Friday.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health announced in August that it was mandating that all 13,000 of its employees be fully vaccinated by the end of September or receive an approved exemption for medical or religious reasons.
Anyone with an exemption will have to follow weekly testing and enhanced personal protective equipment guidelines.
In a statement, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health officials said they were "heartened that the overwhelming majority made the choice to support and continue the critical work to defeat the pandemic, and to provide the best, safest care possible for our patients, our communities, and one another."
Other New Hampshire hospitals, including Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and Memorial Hospital, have also implemented vaccination mandates.
Federal front-line health workers serving veterans in Veterans Administration hospitals must also be vaccinated, and other companies have announced vaccination and testing requirements.
A forthcoming rule by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration will require all employers with more than 100 employees to require that their staff be vaccinated or face weekly testing for the coronavirus.
