Would you stay off social media if you had the chance to win $2,500?

Now you can thanks to All Home Connections, which created a 25-day challenge where users pledge to stay off social media with one lucky winner taking home $2,500.

The site said the purpose of the challenge is to encourage social media use in moderation.

To enter the challenge, participants will have to complete the following four steps:

  1. Spend five days using a mood tracker while using social media as they would normally.
  2. For 25 days, delete social media apps from tablets and phones. They would also have to resist the temptation to go onto social networking sites via a computer or look at friends’ devices.
  3. Throughout the 25-day detox period, they would have to set goals and work on them on a regular basis. A provided app and task sheet would allow participants to continue to track their mood and activities.
  4. At the end of the month, participants would have to share how the detox affected them in a short video or write-up.

If after reading all these steps you are still interested in joining the challenge, the deadline to apply is Oct. 25, 2021. Click here to sign up and to find out more information.

Researchers have found that there is a downside to social media apps despite the positives of bringing people together from far away and it being a useful communication tool.

According to Helpguide, social media usage can increase depression and anxiety, while making people feel inadequate about their lives or appearances.
