Yankees fans should be furious watching cowardly Astros fans brawl during ALDS

Remember during the AL Wild Card Game a few years back between the New York Yankees and Oakland Athletics? A matchup that resulted in a 7-2 victory for the Bombers was overshadowed by the baseball community whining about an innocent A’s fan getting three ounces of beer dumped on his head during a home run celebration.

Then ensued the age-old conversation about how Yankees fans are “the worst” because sometimes things get too rowdy in the bleachers. Wahhhhhhh.

We’d love for you to tell us how that’s still the case after watching what New York Mets fans, Los Angeles Dodgers fans, and of course, Houston Astros fans have done over the past few years.

Mets fans have harassed players’ wives and family members on Twitter. Dodgers fans are involved in no holds barred matches every other week to the point where Dodger Stadium is an actual unsafe place to be at times. Astros fans, who have played the victim over the last two years because their poor team was exposed for breaking the rules, have been a nightmare on social media and have taken part in plenty of disgusting behavior ever since.

We’re not here to give you a history lesson, though. We simply have the latest form of evidence to prove, once again, just about every fan base has an undesirable sect that ruins in for everyone.

But then again, please tell us the last time you saw Yankees fans pour a beer on an opposing fan’s head and then sucker punch said fan to the ground. And then sucker punch him again multiple times after he’s gotten up. That’s the the fragile Astros fan base for ya!

This happened during Thursday’s ALDS Game 1 during which Houston made quick work of Chicago by the score of 6-1:

Astros fans beat up a White Sox fan during Game 1 of the ALDS.

Would you look at that. The White Sox fan pointing to his jersey gets a beer poured on him, then gets borderline knocked out by a different offender, and then a THIRD Astros fan comes in to lay a few more punches after he had finally got back up to his feet. That’s class!

Whenever you can get three people to knock someone senseless during a baseball game, you definitely follow through with the assignment. Why else did you spend $250 to see a playoff game?

Apologies, though, we were told the bleachers at Yankee Stadium featured the scummiest fans in MLB. There’s ample evidence to surely suggest Yankees fans aren’t the most well-behaved individuals in existence, but let’s level the playing field here. Throwing garbage on the field because your team is awful in no way compares to assaulting someone in this manner. Throwing a ball at Alex Verdugo’s back is as deplorable as it gets, but what about the Sox fan that hit Giancarlo Stanton with his home run ball a few years back? That was fine because the throw was “impressive”?

There’s always something awful happening. We’re just sick of hearing the same narrative over and over when we’re witnessing borderline criminal behavior from so many others throughout the sport. People simply hate the Yankees because they “always win,” but we’re confused how that still holds up after they’ve secured one title in the last 20 years.
