EVESHAM – New Jersey state assemblywoman Jean Stanfield has selected Cherokee High School senior Kathleen Leonard as “Senior Student Spotlight” winner for the month of September.

Stanfield writes, “Kathleen displays her dedication to succeed by excelling in many of the challenging courses Cherokee has to offer. She inserts herself in many extracurricular activities, including the Renaissance Club, Peer Leaders, and Italian Club. She created a program called Healthcare Explorer’s Club at Cherokee. This program is able to help other students become exposed to many different career paths in the healthcare field by monthly meetings with healthcare professionals. I sincerely am impressed by what Kathleen has accomplished, and I know she will do great things in whatever she dares to pursue!”

“Kathleen is an excellent student who is extremely positive, focused and dedicated in her academics and in her pursuit of her career goal to become a nurse,” said Cherokee counselor Suzanne Connolly. “It has been a pleasure working with Kathleen as a co-advisor to her Healthcare Explorer’s Club.”
