The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers are about to begin an exciting, terrifying, and historic postseason series, as they square off in the five-game NLDS, beginning tonight at 6:37 p.m. PT on TBS.

There are a million conflicting storylines for the teams that had two of the best regular seasons in modern baseball history. The Giants finished with the better record, and the Dodgers with the better run differential. In the season series between the two, the same was true. The Dodgers were supposed to be elite, while the Giants were surprising in their success. Each won a handful of games against each other in exciting ways, and each in perhaps controversial ones. Each will be without their left-handed first baseman that leads their team in home runs.

No outcome should be surprising, but my buddy and colleague Eric Stephen of True Blue LA and I tried to make sense of the series in podcast form. In news that will likely shock exactly zero of you, Eric predicts the Dodgers to advance to the NLCS, while I picked the Giants.

But we had fun doing so.
