Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is currently Marvel Studios and Hollywood's biggest film release this year and the tremendous support it got from the fandom despite the current COVID-10 pandemic pretty much proves that the studio is holding something truly special in their hands. However, while most people enjoyed the Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster, some viewers thought the film's final act featuring Shaun (Shang-Chi's American name) and his father Wenwu kind of fell flat.

For context, Shang-Chi's climactic moments were heavily criticized by fans over the involvement of the two CGI monsters the Great Protector and Dweller-in-Darkness who were only featured during the film's third and final act. A lot of them thought it was unnecessary and only ruined the emotional moment between the father-and-son tandem.

Now, actor Simu Liu is finally breaking his silence over the matter and if you'll ask him what he thinks about the divisive ending, he'll tell you otherwise. In a recent Instagram story update (via The Direct), the Canadian star insists that what transpired in the ending was "perfect" for the story they were trying to tell.

He said: "A lot of people have been asking about our ending without giving too much away. I just want to say that I think it's perfect for our story. We've seen Shaun embracing the parts of himself rather than rejecting it. And once he solves that central conflict within himself, he unlocks his full potential, which is to literally ride a dragon battle against a massive soul-sucking demon."

Well, I guess you really can't please everybody and no matter how fantastic Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is, there will always be fans who will try to nitpick on it. Still, it doesn't erase the fact that Simu and the rest of the film's cast and crew delivered and it'll be exciting to see where Shaun's new journey takes him next. As for Wenwu, don't be surprised if he ends up coming back from the dead.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will hit Disney+ on November 12.
