Video of Woman's 'Life-Changing' Bed Making Hack Viewed 4 Million Times

A woman has gone viral on TikTok thanks to a "life-changing" hack designed to take the stress out of making the bed.

Interior designer and all-around tips and tricks enthusiast Melissa Harbes took to social media to share her hack for perfecting the art of putting on new bedsheets.

A frustrating and all-too-familiar part of life to people the world over, the art of making the bed is one many of us are still trying to perfect.

Thankfully Harbes, posting under the handle, m_h_interiordesign, has come up with a handy tip to help take the pain out of at least one element of this otherwise tedious process.

In a video showcasing her newly-discovered technique, Harbes wrote alongside the video: "I was today years old when I learnt that all you need to do is place the tag of the fitted sheet in the bottom right corner."

"Fits every time!" she adds.

A simple yet surprisingly effective trick that's also super-easy to remember, Harbes' life hack evidently struck a chord with many online.

At the time of writing, the clip, which can be watched here, has been viewed more than 4 million times with fans flocking to the comments section to praise her for coming to their rescue.

For many, it seemed that despite their advancing years, Harbes' advice was nothing short of a revelation.

One user, writing under the name English Harry, told her: "Thank you. I'm almost 60 and I never knew this." Another, named Sasha Tennant, declared: "Well I guess today is the day I became an adult."

Leslie Smith asked: "How am I this old and only learning these things now? This is awesome."

One person, writing as User8485043496489, even went as far as declaring the hack "life changing" explaining they could never "figure out how to start putting the fitted sheet on."

Clinton MacRae was equally appreciative, recalling the many "wrestling matches" they had previously lost while attempting to fit a sheet. "I'll be winning the belt next time," he declared.

Newsweek has contacted Harbes for comment.

Hacks are nothing new in the world of social media, of course.

Recent highlights have included a handy tip from one mom showing how to make bags of potato chips reusable. Another mother found herself courting attention on TikTok with a neat trick for making fruit stay fresh for longer.

One woman, meanwhile, sparked a bit of controversy after sharing her own neat trick for pretending to work while relaxing at home.

Elsewhere, a man on TikTok found himself hailed as a game-changer after revealing we've all been using and wearing bath towels wrong this entire time.
