“I would definitely recommend the halibut - beautifully cooked and served with seasonal veg. A good selection of beers were on offer too.”
This traditional 450-year-old pub is not to be mixed up with The Bell Hotel which doubles as a JD Wetherspoon.

What they say: "Here for lunch on recommendation. I don't think the owners will mind me saying that the pub in nothing special to look at from the outside but a lovely interior awaits you on stepping inside and you are rewarded with a pleasing old fashioned 'pubby' ambiance.
"Not a huge range of choices of fayre but this an independently owned house and it is far preferable to have fewer choices that are home-cooked & served hot. We had the Sunday lunch roast pork and it was delicious. We asked for an extra jug of gravy, it was was supplied gladly (and proper gravy too made from the pork juices - yum!)."

What they say: "We were passing through Aylesbury on our Narrowboat to visit the Theatre and found this absolutely brilliant pub just a short walk with our dog, Ozzy the German Shephard.
"The pub had 5 or 6 real ales on in top class condition, the staff are really friendly, especially with dogs. The pub is clean and tidy. Good range of spirits and single malt whisky's.
"There is also food available. If you are visiting Aylesbury this pub is great. Cheers Pete, Marie and Ozzy Narrowboat JAMMIN. Keep up the good work we will definitely be back."
