Manchester City will be without the services of Ederson and Gabriel Jesus for their home fixture against Burnley at the Etihad on 16th of October as the Premier League returns.

The Brazilian duo chances of participation became slim to none after their national coach Tite insisted that no Brazilian player would be allowed to leave before the conclusion of the three scheduled matches of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. However, this is not the first instance of Premier League officials having issues with Brazilian players arrival.

At the closure of the previous international break, Brazilians were in chaos as they were left with no choice after their clash with arch-rivals Argentina got suspended due to several security issues and they couldn’t even reach their respective clubs within time due to strict quarantine rules imposed by the U.K. government.

Brazilian and Manchester City’s Goalkeeper Ederson, who recently extend his contract up to 2026 with the Cityzens, was at his usual best during course of his Club’s victories. He was proactive more often than not, preventing any possible runs from the opponent team’s strikers.

He was one of the stand out players in their fearsome face-off against Liverpool at Anfield, where he saved many shots on target which probably deserved to sneak through.

City’s number nine Gabriel Jesus was also having a rapid rise in the latter stages after having a rather shaky start to the season where he couldn’t even start on a regular basis after being sent off with a red card in the semi-final clash of CONMEBOL’s Copa America .

His goal against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge heaped praise on the 24-year-old as even Pep Guardiola admitted that the Brazilian was one of the best possible signings City have ever made.

So, with both of their key players in the form of Jesus and Ederson’s chances of making it to the Burnley clash looking bleak, will the likes of Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez be able to lead Manchester City to top of the table, or does Burnley smell blood?
