Which Carolina Panthers players head into the Week 5 game against the Philadelphia Eagles with work to do in terms of performance?

It’s been another eventful week for the Carolina Panthers, who are coming off their first loss of the season but kept momentum trending in the right direction with a bombshell trade for Stephon Gilmore from the New England Patriots. This was another massive statement of intent from the organization and although the All-Pro cornerback isn’t available until Week 7, his arrival has given everyone a huge lift.

What comes next this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles is equally as important. The Panthers are about to embark on a winnable stretch of games, but getting off on the wrong foot in Week 5 would be nothing short of a disaster.

The Eagles are sitting with a 1-3 record currently. But underestimating them would be foolish and especially since Carolina has some flaws the NFC East outfit might be able to exploit.

Without further ado, here are five Panthers with work to do ahead of Week 5.

John Miller – Carolina Panthers OG

There hasn’t been a great deal to shout about regarding John Miller’s production this season. It’s clear that something is bothering the offensive lineman from a health standpoint, which stems from an injury and contracting COVID-19 after choosing not to get vaccinated.

Miller needs to buck up his ideas, and quickly. It’s just that simple.

He will have his hands full this weekend against the formidable presence of Fletcher Cox, one of the NFL’s best at the position who is sure to smell blood after watching Miller’s performance at the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4.

If Miller cannot raise his standards, then look for Cox to have a field day rushing from the interior.
