Emily Osment is back on the sitcom train with her new Netflix-original comedy, Pretty Smart. The lighthearted series centers on the intellectual, serious and bookish Chelsea (Osment) who moves in with her “bubbly” (some might say airheaded?) younger sister Claire and her equally-bubbly roommates in L.A. — roommates that each embody one of the modern social clichés: the influencer, the fitness trainer and the vegan healer. But as Chelsea is soon to learn, these people have more substance than they appear, and Claire and her roommates might teach Chelsea a lesson or two of their own. Take a peek into Justin Bieber’s universe in his new original documentary, Justin Bieber: Our World, new on Amazon Prime Video this weekend. Directed by Michael D. Ratner (Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil), the documentary follows Justin Bieber as he prepares for his first full concert in three years: his New Year’s Eve show in 2020. Featuring appearances from wife Hailey Bieber and manager Scooter Braun, Justin Bieber: Our World lets us back into the life of this international superstar once more.

New on Hulu this weekend is Jacinta, a deeply moving documentary that follows the life of a recovering drug addict as she tries to take back her life post-incarceration and -sobriety. It centers on the titular Jacinta, a 26-year-old young woman who has spent her life in and out of the system starting from a young age — mostly in part to her own mother’s addiction to drugs. But this time around, Jacinta is determined to stay on the straight and narrow and reconnect with her 10-year-old daughter, Caylynn, who lives with her paternal grandparents. But as the documentary follows Jacinta grappling continuously with the causes and triggers of her addictions as she tries to move forward, the film turns into a gripping and innately human piece on the bonds between mothers and daughters, cross-generational trauma and the power of human resilience.
