KENSAL, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Kensal Public Schools received recognition for being a top 15% elementary school in North Dakota.

In a notice from the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction (NDDPI), Kensal ranked highly in the School Accountability Report, which is done for every public school in the state.

“[We] calculated accountability to be used only as a tool for school districts to identify areas of underperformance and proactively implement school improvement strategies,” their office stated. “School leaders receiving this memo have ranked in the top 15% of public schools based on the North Dakota Accountability Index.”

The North Dakota Accountability Index (NDAI) is essentially a public school’s score with points earned based on points possible. This then places schools in a ranking order. Kensal Public Schools earned a top 15% mark in the index.

“The NDDPI is committed to supporting schools and districts in gaining a deeper understanding of data, providing more resources for high-impact use of funds, and ensuring students are on the right path towards graduating Choice Ready,” they added in the memo to the school.

The high ranking means increased funding opportunities for educational leaders to maximize the impact of emergency dollars by flowing funds directly to students through accelerating service and advancing educational experience.

Kensal Public School was commended for their commitment to children and the positive impact and dedication to the students. They were then encouraged to evaluate the data regularly to identify areas of strength and areas of need.
