It’s finally that time of year: the annual Apex Legends Halloween Event, titled ‘Monsters Within’, is almost here. Now it’s time to whip out your spookiest holiday cosmetics and help the Legends take down their inner demons while you take down the competition.
Apex Legends Monsters Within Start Day
According to Respawn, the event will run from October 12th to November 2nd, so there’s plenty of time for any curious skinsuits to sink their claws into the newest themed cosmetics and game modes. There will, however, be free reward tracks that change each week – more on that below.
Monsters Within: Return of Shadow Royale
The final week of Monsters Within will include a familiar Limited Time Event: Shadow Royale, a mode in which players try to survive against hordes of Shadows while trapped in an alternate dimension in which King’s Canyon has no sun, but death can sometimes be an advantage. Eliminated players are respawned as demonic versions of themselves called Shadows, creatures that move incredibly fast and hit incredibly hard. But skinsuits beware: death comes with a price: your weapons, armor, and healing supplies.
New Arenas Map: Encore
Arenas fans will be excited to know that a thrilling new map is coming to the popular 3v3 mode.
Encore is located on Seer’s home planet, Boreas, making it the first map to exist on a planet other than Solace, Talos, or Psamanthe. The map looks to have quite a few interesting areas that will surely lead to plenty of thrills (though hopefully less chills than Shadow Royale’s scary locale). One thing is certain: there will definitely be some interesting ‘performances’ taking place in Seer’s Arena.
Apex Legends Monsters Within Reward Tracks
Another feature that makes this event unique is its reward track layout. Instead of one, there will be three:
1. October 12 – 19th
2. October 19th – 26th
3. October 26th – November 2nd
Each weekly reward track requires 3,000 points to complete, and for completing all three reward tracks, players will be rewarded with a total of 92 Battle Pass stars, 3 Apex Packs & an Event Pack, 3 holosprays, a loading screen image, a Loba gun charm, 3 themed banner trackers, 75 crafting metals, and a Loba skin.
Apex Legends Monsters Within Skin and Event Packs
The Monsters Within event will come with some spooky new cosmetic costume sets for Seer, Bloodhound, Caustic, Octane, and more, but it also introduces Monsters Within Event Packs.
These 400 AC packs will only be available during the event, and are guaranteed to have a non-dupe Limited Event item. But the event itself will bring 40 new Monsters Within-themed items to the game – for good. Meaning these items will be craftable even after the event is over, and Respawn has stated that two seasons after the event has ended, the crafting metal price for purchasing these items may decrease.
In addition to the 40 new permanent additions to the cosmetics pool, some popular Halloween-themed skins from previous years will also make an appearance in the regular store. These include Wraith’s ‘Mistress of Evil’, Mirage’s ‘Old Town’, and my personal favorite: Crypto’s ‘Deadly Byte’.
However you style your favorite Legends this Halloween, you’re sure to be reaping some screams from your fellow skinsuits in no time.
