Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Johnny Connor is going to be feeling extra low next week thanks to some comments that are very harsh.

In scenes we'll see across next week, Johnny is feeling pretty directionless in his life when Carla decides to offer him a job at the factory doing consultancy work.

He's thrilled to be working at Underworld, but it isn't long before he overhears Beth Sutherland gossiping about him, calling him old, past it and not up for the job.

Johnny goes to the pub to try and get his personal life back on track as well, when he sees Jenny on a date with a handsome new man, making him feel even worse.

When Carla comes around to see him, Johnny says that Beth is right and he isn't right for the role. He tells her that Carla doesn't need his help running the factory, and that he feels like it's time for him to leave the cobbles and find his calling somewhere new.

These episodes will lead up to Super Soap Week, and among all the other things that will happen, it's been teased that Jenny will admit whether she still has feelings for Johnny, or whether she really has moved on.

"What we get from Jenny and Johnny is that circumstances force them to face up to their feelings for each other and their past, as well as what they want from their future," producer Iain MacLeod recently explained to Digital Spy and other media.

"It's incredibly dramatic, but equally, it's very funny. It's very heartfelt, it's incredibly moving and emotional."

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday, October 13 and Friday, October 15 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
