Women's Lacrosse adds Kelly Dowd to Coaching Staff

INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy women's Lacrosse team has added former Queens University All-American and former Belmont Abbey College assistant coach, Kelly Dowd, to their staff for the upcoming 2021-22 campaign.

Dowd led Belmont Abbey to a 36-18 overall record, including two conference championships. She helped develop several All-Region players and All-Conference. Along with coaching Belmont Abbey, she served as the Head Coach for the Queen City Stars Elite Lacrosse Club, where she helped run individual and team practices to improve skills of developing players.

"I am truly honored in the University's belief in me to be an asset to the program. I'm very excited to get to work and contribute to the continued success of the team." Said Kelly Dowd.

While at Queens University, Dowd served as a Team Captain and received several recognitions as a player including All-American and All-Conference honors.

"I couldn't be happier and more excited to welcome Kelly to the UIndy lacrosse family. She brings quality and experience not only as an All-American in her playing days, but also as one of the premier assistant coaches in lacrosse." Said Head Coach James Delaney.  "I was especially excited about her proven ability to handle various aspects of our program and have a great role in building upon our previous success. I can't wait to get to work alongside Kelly in continuing to build towards our ultimate goal of a national championship."

The Greyhounds Lacrosse team will look to top their 2020-21 campaign, where they have a record of 14-2, in the upcoming season.
