Don’t have any barberries in the pantry? Don’t worry! You can replace this dried berry with either dried cranberries or dried cherries. However, if you want to stick with the authentic recipe, you can find dried barberries at most middle eastern grocery stores.

These berries come from the barberry shrub, which is commonly grown in eastern countries. These berries have been used in both eastern and western medicine to treat things like constipation, heartburn, and even malaria, according to WebMD.

Whether you choose barberries, cranberries, or cherries, this salad will be as delicious as it is unique! The surprising kick of red chili pepper perfectly accents the sweet honey and floral notes of the brandy.

If you’re looking for a new and exciting way to dress up your fruit, this sauce is definitely one you’ll want to remember and keep in your back pocket. Get the full ingredient list and instructions below!
