Daniel Craig on the next James Bond: 'It's not my problem'

Anything beyond No Time to Die in the James Bond film franchise is none of Daniel Craig's concern.

The 53-year-old actor visited Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday night, and the late-night talk show host asked if Craig will have any say over who replaces him as civilization's most iconic spy.

"No, it's not my problem," Craig responded. "No, no. I don't want to get involved with that."

Longtime Bond producer Barbara Broccoli recently shared that the hunt for a new 007 is something the team is "not thinking about at all" because they want to celebrate Craig's farewell. "Next year, we'll start thinking about the future."

One week prior, Craig had expressed his thoughts on the possibility of a women taking over the role: "The answer to that is very simple. There should simply be better parts for women and actors of color. Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?"

Back with Kimmel, Craig said he wouldn't have any problem with an American taking up the mantle—mostly because he is an American citizen, "so it's already happened."

Craig began his Bond tenure with Casino Royale (2006) and powered through Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015).

No Time to Die is Craig's final bow, and it has been accentuated by a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

NTTD hits U.S. theaters tomorrow. Watch the trailer and Craig's conversation with Kimmel below.
